Magic

I remember so distinctly the magical feeling that the holiday season used to bring when I was little. I still love the holidays but there is something about being a kid at Christmas. This year Shy has got the “magic” bug. On Friday she was so tired that she really needed a nap. We told her that as soon as she woke up, we would decorate the tree together. Big mistake. Every ten minutes she would wander out saying how good she was to take a nap and it was now time to decorate the tree. After about an hour, we gave up: Oh, the magic of lights, pretty ribbons, and ornaments. Tonight we baked and frosted Christmas cookies, her quote “We should do this everyday, like preschool!” Oh, the magic of pretty little things to eat. Finally, yesterday, she wrote her letter to Santa. She was worried Santa would not be able to read her cute little hand writing. She had so much fun, she wrote her brother’s letter too. Oh the magic of anticipation.

Its funny, but I think that watching my daughter’s magical moments are even better then having them myself.

Cute pictures! You always do the cutest things with your kids. Isn't it fun to set up the tree with kids?!? I love how excited they get for Christmas.

Those are two of the cutest helpers. Hopefully the cookies tasted as good as they looked!

That's so fun! We can't wait till Max is big and can do those things too. And Shy, I'll be expecting some of those Christmas cookies... :)

Hey Shy, I bet you didn't save any cookies for Grandma. Oh well, when you come down next time you'll have to help me make some.
